About Us
Medical Instruments and Books Ltd owns and operates www.medshop.co.uk. This site aims to provide a one stop shop for all books and supplies for the Healthcare Professional.
The concept of Medshop was created by three junior doctors and has grown into a successful business and has undergone a radical redesign and expansion. As Medshop is an e-commerce business, savings can be passed directly to the customer.
Medshop is the first and only website in the UK providing books and equipment to the Healthcare Professions. It is unique and has the advantage of being available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, unlike your local high street bookshop or medical equipment store.
Three junior doctors recognised the difficulties in obtaining books and equipment due to the lack of specialist outlets and time constraints. Both expense and availability were problems, with the added difficulty of books and equipment not being available in the same place. This inspired the creation of Medshop to redress this balance and the business has moved from strength to strength.
As the careers of the founding members have progressed, so have their priorities and goals in life. Therefore Medshop has changed hands to another family with a medical background committed to providing you excellent service and value for money.
Current Owners
Amarjit Singh Nijjar
Currently working as a GP with 30 years of experience, he has a wide range of experience in many fields of medicine and surgery. He achieved a distinction in his 2004-2007 GP practice accreditation
Jagtar Singh Nijjar
A recent graduate of the University of Glasgow, Jagtar is a Foundation Year 1 doctor. He has recent experience of books and materials required for medical school as well as for the final medical exams. He is hoping to undertake the MRCP and is currently working towards this goal as well as pursuing interests in rheumatology and space medicine.
Balraj Singh Nijjar
A graduate in Computing Science and currently working towards becoming a commercial airline pilot. Balraj is a partner in the company and involved with customer service, order shipments and general day to day running.
